Shan Met Shui 山水相逢
This work : Shan Met Shui 山水相逢 (mountain and water meet), is probe into the subject form and their existing meaning.
From the geographical level, mountain and river(water) are very difference from every part of definition, but this is not the main focus for me, what I more interested is the visually level; in the process of making a visual image from a subject matter, usually we will concentrated on their unique characteristic elements, for example mountain it should be a solid, firm, sharp and strong form, then water is soft and gentle; what I probe into in this series is the difference subject elements in some level they actually can have the same element character.
The mountain form, their structure it is actually from the liquidity, they contain so much evidence of liquid flowing history; and water its appearance is soft but it is very strong and powerful, because of their flexibility; if this when applying it to people, it can be same, men are strong and women are weak this is a physically condition, but when there is a ultra-ordinally situation happened, surprisingly women they can became very strong and even strongest than men. And this exactly give a very clear explanation on ying and yang, every things existence in universal they are not still, they can be ying now but yang next, they are changeable in different application, there is no absolute in the nature, it is our perception that we think we can understand this nature, but in front of nature the great human being are very tiny.
Two albums in this work, one is about mountain and the other is water, and when two album assembly side by side they can be merge into each other without any differences, the flow of water and the flow of mountain has made the picture in oneness, and the display of this work is I put these two albums in a model box with a stand of two feet, I deliberately make it lower from a normal display stand, so when viewer see it, they need to bent down, this is a way of my message to let people always respect nature and be humble.
